Merry Christmas!

Work:

As a Christmas present to you, my faithful readers, I am offering a preorder of my new book, Not An Ordinary Baronet, at the discounted price of $1.99. The book will be released on January 9, 2018 at the full price of $2.99.

Here is the blurb:

One morning, along the wild Dorset coast, Sir Bertie is bewitched by Lady Catherine Redmayne. Smugglers intervene, and soon her life is in danger. Of course, Bertie feels compelled to protect her, but initially, Catherine believes him to be the menace. It doesn’t help that she is heartbroken and the subject of a scandal.

First, Bertie must convince Catherine of his innocence, then uncover the real threat. Will she yield her injured heart to him? Several forces are at work to separate them, and, after all, he is only an ordinary baronet and she is a marquess’s daughter.

I have been working on a new book, as yet untitled, featuring Captain Ernest Saunders, who was introduced in Book 2 of the Three Gentlemen of London series. I am halfway through my first draft. In keeping with the theme of introducing a bit of suspense to my Regencies, this one involves scandals in horseracing! The heroine is Marianne, Lady Deveridge, who is Bertie’s sister in Not an Ordinary Baronet. You can imagine that after being married to an explorer who died abroad, she is not too terribly interested in a sea captain.

Family & Fun:

We just enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving week in California with our daughter Buffy and her family. Morgan’s family joined us there. We stayed in a quaint 19th century cottage that has been restored on an orange ranch near our daughter. Now that we are home, we miss them all so much! There are seven grandchildren in all. Here are just a few pictures:
