G.G.’s Jottings

October, 2017

Work:

The last two months have been very busy! I have published my new novella to great reviews on Amazon:

I do love this author! I love getting lost in the fun she creates

, and this was no different. As a novella, this was shorter but delightful even still.”

“Mystery, romance, and verbal sparring at its best! Starting out on the wrong foot can still lead to happily ever after.”

“I look forward to meeting intelligent, sassy heroines in G.G. Vandagriff’s Regency romances as equally to the men worthy of their admiration and love.”

My newest full length novel is now with my editor. I have spent most of this last year writing it and it is full of suspense and the heartwarming romance between the daughter of a marquess and a “mere” baronet. You can go to “work in progress” on my website (http://ggvandagriff.com) to read the first chapter. Here is the cover reveal!

Family:

David and I just returned from a unexpectedly lovely visit with my sister, Buffy, who is in the final stages of early-onset Alzheimer’s. She recognized me which I didn’t expect, and I was able to hold her and visit with her for five hours. As her husband, Bruce, says: “Excepting Jesus Christ, she is the most patient person who ever lived.” She is truly my hero and I hope I can live my life with as much kindness and love as she has.

We still miss our dear son, Greg, and know that the grieving will continue for a long time, but we wouldn’t want for our memories of him to ever dim.

Our grandchildren (now seven) continue to be a delight. Henry (4) claims that his baby sister, Vika, (5 mos.) talks to him and only he can understand her language. Jack and Micah are settling into school reluctantly after a too short summer. Astrid (3) has begun tap and ballet. She is also attending her first year of preschool with her brother Natey (5). Neve (1) is now walking and into everything, of course.

Their mother, our daughter Buffy, is beginning to plan what she will do with her life when all her children are in school!

Fun:

We are thrilled that the Chicago Cubs clinched the title as Central Division Champs in the National League right as we were pulling in our garage from our trip to CA. We look forward to some great Post-Season play!
